Our story

NUTRYSoft® began as a personal project by the dietitian Patricio Riffo Muñoz, a graduate of the Universidad de Chile in Temuco (today Universidad de La Frontera), who taught himself to program in 1983. The brand started out as MARSoft®, Software for Health.

The first program was presented at the First National Congress of Dietitians of Chile in 1984. On the strength of that presentation, INTA awarded the author a grant to attend the International Congress on Health Data Management and Statistics.

His work as a primary care dietitian meant the software could be used in daily practice and refined. Over the years, the technical quality of the programs led several Chilean universities to bring them into the training of their students.

The road has not been easy: the programs have been rebuilt many times over, as operating systems, nutritional assessment tables and standards, and programming languages have changed. It has been possible thanks to the trust of colleagues and institutions who use them in their work, and to the dietitians who have tested each new version before it was released.

Moving to the web

All our new development is on the web: products that run in the browser, with nothing to install. The Windows desktop software is no longer supplied or renewed: anyone using it keeps it until their licence expires, and we help them move to the web .
